Where Does Time Go?

A few thoughts from Heather.  Beware that it is all stream of consiousness and so will likely jump around and not make sense at times.

Where does time go?  It seems like just yesterday Gideon joined our family yet in two days he will be two months old! It's hard for this mom to believe.  As usual I haven't done as much blogging as I would like but I've been busy adjusting to the change in our lives and trying to cherish every minute I have with Gideon as in just about a month I have to return to work.  I'm very grateful to God for providing the means for me to extend my maternity leave to a full 12 weeks.  Originally I was only looking at 8 and that would have meant I would have been back at work today.  I'm so blessed that I have this extra time with my little boy (who by the way isn't so little any more).  I already have had to start putting him in the 3 to 6 month clothes and many of his 0 to 3 month clothes just don't fit.  What a hard thing to do realizing he already is outgrowing clothes.  Although there are definitely times where I'm exhausted and frustrated when he is fussy and I can't figure out why or how to make it better I love being a mom.  It has been such a joy to watch him start to interact with his toys more, be more alert, and watch his many different facial expressions.  I still want to capture some of them on camera so I can do a faces of Gideon page in his album (which I really need to start working on).  Having Gideon has made me try to work on enjoying every moment a little more.  Although the house isn't as clean as I would like I've really been trying to remember that spending time with my "boys" is so much more important.  There are always going to be chores to do and there are times when they must be done but even more important is the people around us.  I've had the opportunity to go on several outings with my good friend Renee and her two kids.  Although going anywhere with three kids under four can be quite the undertaking and you don't always get a lot accomplished it has been a lot of fun to get out and I will definitely miss that when I return to work.  I've also had to learn that routines don't always happen.  For so many years I've had certain routines in the morning and though I knew they would have to change they have sometimes changed more than I ever imagined.  Yet I strive to find the routines that will work for us now and will need to do so more when I return to work.  Well this is going to have to be all for now as Gideon is waking from his nap and is going to need changed and fed.  More later and thanks for reading this random thoughts by Heather.
