If I had to summarize the last few months into a couple of words. I think I would use the words changing and adapting. Read on to hear why. I can't remember exactly when I last wrote on here but I know it has been quite a while. Life has been pretty busy lately or so it seems anyway. Part of that is due to me returning to work a little over a month ago now and working on adjusting to that.
As I said in the summary I see the past few months as a time of change and adapting. I know obvious right since we now have 3 members in our family and one of them is a baby. I'm not saying I didn't expect change. I knew it was coming and I'm also not saying I don't like it. In fact most of the change has been good and a huge blessing. Life is always full of change and is a process.
That idea is something I've been thinking about a lot lately and Adam has been trying hard to remind me about the fact that life is a journey not a destination. I would like to think I'm getting better at that. I've been trying really hard to take time to enjoy the little things and people more than just getting things done. Now for those of you who know me well you can imagine that isn't an easy thing for me to do but I'm working on it.
One area that I've been really working on is how to setup routines around the house to help make sure the things that need to get done can and hopefully not getting too overwhelmed. A couple months ago (about a month before returning to work I would guess) I hit a rather low point one day as I was sitting at home with Gideon who had been having several fussy days (just because he is a baby not because anything was wrong) and it seemed like I wasn't being able to get anything done around the house. As I sat there I struggled with how in the world am I ever going to be able to do this once I go back to work if I can't do it when I'm home all day. I started surfing the internet. (Something I did a lot of somedays while home as I would get to a point of just letting Gideon sleep in my arms since it seemed he wouldn't nap otherwise.) Anyway I came across a website called flylady.net. The whole premise of the site is helping you FLY (Finally Love Yourself) and providing tips and encouragement for keeping up with your home. I decided to give it a try. Why not I thought I'm frustrated and struggling maybe it can help. Now I've been working on using the ideas on the site for about two months and although I still haven't made it through the beginner baby steps (I'm almost there but going back to work slowed the process a little) I feel like it is helping. Although I still am working on figuring out how to get certain things done I feel pretty good in general about how the main area of our house looks on any given day. I'm still working on how to make some things run/ fit in more easily like grocery shopping as being away from home for 11 hours a day during the and wanting to spend as much time with Gideon and Adam as I can makes it hard to get things done during the week. Anyway my 15 minutes I was giving myself to write is up. So I will end for now. I realize this is probably a strange post to follow and may not make much sense but oh well I hope you enjoy it anyway. I'd like to try and spend 15 minutes every week writing something. We will see how it goes. Till next time.

I like this as I am now going to check out flylady.net since there are things I need to work on too and perhaps it will help. I also like it because it helps me see parts of you that are otherwise not as visible to me. I love you Heather!

In recent years, this has become the “so ugly it’s cool” retro jersey of the NBA (like how the Houston Astros tequila sunrise jersey is in baseball), but when people are thinking about the retro Nuggets jersey they like, they’re thinking of the later version, not this one. I’ll admit, I have a certain fondness for the late 80s version (popularized by Alex English), even though it looks like Rainbow Brite puked her Skittles all over it, but this one with the navy and dark green is just plain ugly. If you’re going to go that colourful with the logo, then you really should go bright with the rest of the uniform too.
