Time just keeps flying by or at least that is how it seems to me. It's hard to believe that it is already almost halfway through January. Sometimes it seems like just yesterday I was waiting for Gideon to be born and now he is almost 10 months old. I have tried very hard to take time to enjoy him and cherish all the time I have with him. I've taken literally thousands of pictures in the past 10 months and have only started scrapping some of them. But it is hard to find time to spend time scrapping when I want to spend the time making the memories instead of just documenting them. Anyway balancing things is definitely still one of my biggest internal struggles. As I attempt to navigate through working 40 + hours a week, taking care of the house, spending time with Adam & Gideon, taking time for myself, getting my needed time with God everyday, not to mention time with friends, church commitments, and other things. I often find myself feeling like I'm just "going through the motions" as a song on the radio puts it. And I don't want to just go through the motions. I want to enjoy and treasure each and every moment. I want to be passionate about life and it seems to me right now that it is missing and I can't seem to figure out how to get it. Gideon has grown so much in the past couple of months. He went from barely moving to full out crawling and attempting to walk in what seemed like a matter of days (if not overnight). He also just about has his first tooth. It's being a bit stubborn and taking a while but parts are definitely through. He is so curious about everything and definitely seems to have his parents drive to figure things out. On top of the craziness of our life as a small family we have been helping a family at our church out. We felt God wanted us to share the wonderful house he gave us with them while they were without a place to live. That has meant many adjustments as there are now 14 people living in our house. Yes you read that right 14 we have a family of 11 living with us. They have been with us since the weekend before Christmas and if things continue to go well should be moving out near the end of this month but it is completely in God's hands. Gideon has enjoyed the extra attention as a couple of their little girls absolutely love him and would entertain him constantly if mom and dad would let them. It has been an interesting experience for sure but we know it is what God wants for us right now so that's what we are doing. Well my 15 minutes is almost up so this will be all for now. I'm not going to even try to promise to update more frequently as that seems to have been futile in the past but we will see what happens. Have a great day.
